Beware of social media post; it might have a malicious threatBeware of social media post; it might have a malicious threat

Hardcore programmers and tech geeks are busy in identifying the upcoming possibilities and solutions to handle the cyber attacks.

The words that build a software program ultimately are the same words that breach those security codes in the program or system.

The main concern is—How the hacker’s brain operates so efficiently and why can’t our highly qualified programmers think the same.

Let’s consider the latest breach in the Pentagon facility in the United States led by a Russian hacker. Now you guys might have a query that it was the WannaCry malware that affected the data accounts of the online users recently.

But this time we are talking about the cyber attack that released through social media platforms.

The Pentagon online security was breached in a single attempt to make an entry into systems of the officials. But the most noteworthy point is the attack didn’t come through file attached with an inoffensive document or email.

A link attached in post on Twitter processed by a robot account did the damage at the Pentagon facility. The link came with a family vacation package, which is a thing any individual might select and open.

The official who was affected by the attack gave this information and also who wasn’t allowed to speak openly into the public about the attack.

The cyber security specialist said, “Where we are constantly training staff to avoid such attachments and think twice before clicking on any email or attachment, Hackers are already one step ahead and now they have come up with a method of attacking the cyberspace.

The hackers are now targeting those accounts that are on social media, as majority of the people are connected through trust.

This method of attacking the social media accounts has made the officials worried. Hackers are using platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to break into the network of defense.

On social media, people more often click the links to access the information considering that the sender is one of the friend or familiar person.

The consequences of clicking those links with malicious threat are too hazardous as if a single user is compromised, the attack rapidly moves through the friend’s network that is present in the connections of the affected user.

On the other side, though the issue is identified, the training to handle the attack through social media sites is limited, and as preventive measures, officials at Pentagon are taught to stay cautious if anything comes to you through Internet—no matter if it is from your family or friends.

Majority of the defense officers’ account were hacked through some or the other way via social media breach. So users who love to explore the world through the small window of social media, be cautious while accessing those malware-attached links.
